"JANUARY 1 is the BIG day Jim's Mom will be 100 !!!
Bertha Beert, 1451 20th Ave., Apt. 112, East Moline, will celebrate her 100th birthday with a family dinner on Jan. 1. She would enjoy receiving cards.
Bertha Wulffaert was born on Jan. 1, 1914, in SasVanGhent, Holland.
She came to the U.S. with her parents at age 6. She married Albert D. Beert on Oct. 3, 1936, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Davenport. He died in 1997.
She has three sons, Ronald (deceased); Gerald (deceased); and James (Jorga), Coal Valley. She has eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
She is a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe and a former 70-year member of St. Mary's, East Moline.
